Story & inspiration
Aurora Field began at the edge of a sleepless night — the moment the dark softens and the first warmth arrives without announcing itself. Layer over translucent layer, the pigment is built up and sanded back until the surface holds light the way water holds the sky. The gold is applied last, by hand, so it reads less as decoration than as the place the light finally lands.
“I wanted a painting you could stand in front of the way you stand at a window before anyone else is awake. Nothing happening — and everything about to.”
